Clint Eastwood’s Son Scott Revealed if He’s Ever Disappointed His Father on a Movie Set

Scott Eastwood has sneakily built up an impressive acting resume over the past few years. And interestingly enough, Clint Eastwood took a page out of John Wayne‘s old playbook. He allowed Scott to be involved with his productions from an early age. And for someone who wants to be in the business, there is no better education than going out there and doing it.

In the case of The Duke, his eldest son Michael grew up to be an accomplished producer at his company, Batjac Productions. His son Patrick loved being involved with Wayne’s movies on the acting side, and he made a career out of what he learned in his youth.

For the Eastwoods, the pattern is similar. Scott’s first roles came in movies that Clint Eastwood produced. The first official credit listed for Scott came in 2006 on “Flags of Our Fathers,” directed by his dad. Back in those days, Scott was still going by the name Scott Reeves. But despite any name change, once you know who Scott is, the resemblance is unmistakable.

In a 2015 interview with Cowboys & Indians, the same comparison to the Wayne family was put to Scott Eastwood. He was asked if there was ever an occasion during which Clint seemed disappointed in him as an actor.

“No, not to my knowledge. He’s a tough, tough, tough guy. He’s old-school in his mentality, so if you piss him off he’ll let you know,” Scott said. “But, no, I think I was really respectful and worked my ass off and shut up and tried to learn as best I could.”

Dad or not, most can respect the approach that Scott took to get an education in acting. And it’s part and parcel of his philosophy on what it takes to achieve something.

Clint Eastwood’s Son and His Philosophy on Careers

Scott Eastwood grew up the son of an iconic actor. That’s always going to come with its advantages. But at the end of the day, you can either act or you can’t.

Millions of dollars aren’t invested in movies only to have aging stars demand that their children play roles in them. Scott Eastwood understands that, and that’s why he’s put his time in. In fact, his career path isn’t all that dissimilar from Clint’s.

Scott played several smaller roles in lower-budget movies until he landed a part on a primetime TV show. In this case, “Chicago Fire.” From there, he kept honing his craft and kept getting work. It goes along with his outlook on work itself.

“You do the same at any job in life,” Scott said in the Cowboys & Indians interview. “If you’re reliable and you show up and you’re good at what you do and you work hard and you’re respectful, you work. If you don’t, then you don’t.”
