Move over Ryan Gosling! Scott Eastwood is the next major Nicholas Sparks movie hunk.
Clint Eastwood's buzzed-about son, 28, booked a role in the upcoming adaptation of Sparks' novel The Longest Ride. The film is being developed by Fox 2000 and George Tillman Jr. (Notorious) has signed on to direct.
Eastwood took to Instagram to announce the news personally, posting a photo of himself with the hardcover book and captioning the shot, "Great book. Thanks Fox for this amazing opportunity!!"
Sparks is best known for his emotional stories, which include The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Dear John, and Safe Haven. Past male leads in his films have led successful careers, including Gosling, Channing Tatum, Liam Hemsworth, and Zac Efron.
His latest adaptation, The Longest Ride, follows two love stories: that of an elderly couple with a storied past, and the sparking romance between a college senior named Sophia and the cowboy she falls for named Luke.
Eastwood, who previously appeared in movies including Trouble with the Curve, Gran Torino, and Invictus, will star in the upcoming film as Luke. Later this year he will also appear in Fury with Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf.
