Subsites[edit]

Does anybody remember all the subsites that Dogpile use to own? For example, cujo or Don Quijote, there were quite a few. I rather enjoyed them.

I don't think I remember them all, but before it was sold I remember there was Arfie, Cujo, Lassie, Buck (from Married with Children), Quixote (actually was my cat), Rover, Speedy (my German Shephard/Basset Hound from childhood) and Senghor (another dog from my childhood).

History of problems?[edit]

Am I the only one that absolutely cannot establish a connection with dogpile.com? I tried with several different browsers over a period of several days and none of them can connect. I've never had a problem quite like this before. --Claude 05:49, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I think this article needs a more neutral writing (was it written by the Dogpile staff? ). Actually that is why I added the "Paid Listing Problem" section. However I don't think this article should be deleted, at least it deserve a section in a general Meta Search Engine Article if there is one.

What does this have to do with the popular definition of a dog pile?[edit]

Actually, maybe an explanation of why the name was chosen would be useful. "Dogpile" in its earlier sense seems to be specifically American (I'm British and have almost never heard it, even in sporting contexts) so some context would be handy. 86.132.139.89 (talk) 00:02, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How many articles, books, etc discuss the word "dogpile". If it doesnt get coverage, its not notable. - note that this doesnt mean the word was used in an article. The article has to actually be ABOUT the topic. I could envision one or two such theoretical articles, maybe talking about the etymology, or some controversy (related perhaps related to similarly named children's games) - Dogpile the website however has many many articles. No Longer Aggregating Results From Multiple Engines? (December 2020)[edit]

This is non scientific, but the results on dogpile.com do not appear to be aggregating from multiple sources and there is no indication that you are searching multiple search engines. Trying a query, the results returned by dogpile are the same as those returned by duckduckgo.
