A Step-by-step Guide To Making Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

-1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

-1/2 cup granulated sugar

-1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

-1 teaspoon vanilla extract

-1 large egg, at room temperature

-1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

-1 teaspoon baking powder

-1/2 teaspoon baking soda

-1/2 teaspoon salt

-2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

-Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

-In a bowl, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Add egg and mix until well combined.

-In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

-Stir in chocolate chips.

-Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake until cookies are golden brown, about 15 minutes.

-Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes; then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
